DMY would like to set the record straight about this image:
Gary Huck came up with the idea of using oil company logos in a statement about the Middle East in a version of this cartoon way back in 1979, ribbing President Carter, and has updated it for the Reagan, Bush I, and current Bush II administration. He holds the copyright to this concept. The version previously posted here was based on a text-email that we received months ago. We were unaware that this was copyrighted material and appreciate Mr. Huck's generosity in allowing us to post his actual cartoon instead.

We hope to repair any damage done to his copyright by our inadvertent infringement. We therefore ask those of you who enjoy this cartoon to join us in respecting Mr. Huck's copyright and not reproduce this, post it online, or print it without his permission, and to notify anyone using this idea that it is a copyright of Mr. Huck's.

Thanks,

Ian Kleinfeld
DMY Webmaster
